Keynote

Michele will share her experience of being an academic founder, and will explain what motivated her to spin, what she enjoyed, what she found difficult, and where she found support, and how this maps to the broader challenge of facilitating knowledge exchange between researchers and non-HE environments.

She will also reflect on her current role at the University of Bristol where she has strategic oversight of enterprise and innovation across the institution.

She aims to provide insight of practical benefit to the Knowledge Exchange UK community, with a theme of working outside of one's comfort zone and the joys, challenges, and sometimes comedic moments this brings.

This will be followed by a panel discussion where a lineup of experts drawn from a wide range of backgrounds will explore themes introduced by Michele from their different perspectives.

This diverse panel to provide provocation and thoughts following the keynote with reference to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and improving uptake and diversity in Knowledge Exchange, a reflection on current research about KE in Business Schools as well as the investor perspective, the policy perspective and inputs from the Health Innovation Network.
